The Skinny- The King of Kong is a documentary that follows Steve Wiebe as he tries to take the world high score for the arcade game Donkey Kong from reigning champion Billy Mitchell. It has garnered rave reviews from numerous critics and maintains a 99% fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes.
The Verdict- Great, great, documentary. Don't be put off thinking this is going to be a geeky film you can't relate to. While it does have it's geeky moments, The King of Kong focuses on universal themes of realizing your potential, overcoming adversity, and the always popular theme of the underdog. I can't go into much detail about this film without spoiling it, so you will have to check it out for yourself.
